Kitters turns a messy group bill into a clear, fair split — scan, assign, share. Done.
Free · No account required to view a shared bill
Everything happens in the app — it takes under two minutes for most bills.
Get the app from the App Store or Google Play. Sign in with Google or create a free account — you can set a short handle (like @alice) so friends can add you by name.
Tap the big Scan a Receipt card on the home screen and point your camera at the receipt. Kitters automatically reads every line item, price, tax, and total — usually in under 5 seconds. You can name the bill and adjust the date on the next screen.
Type each person's name or search by their @handle. Kitters will look them up and add them to the split. You can also add guests who don't have the app — just use their first name.
Tap items to check them off — pick all the items one person ordered, then tap their name in the sticky strip at the top to assign them in one go. Use Everyone for shared items and Unassign to clear assignments. Already-assigned items show a colored badge — tap the badge to reassign just that one item.
Ordered from multiple places? Tap 📷 Add Receipt from the split screen, summary, or bill history to scan another receipt and merge it into the same bill — all assignments are preserved.
Kitters shows each person's consumed amount, what they paid, and their net balance. The settlement section shows the fewest transfers needed to make everyone square.
Tap Share Bill to generate a link like getkitters.com/bill/abc123. Send it to your group chat — anyone can open it in a browser, no app needed, and see their personal share.
Use the Who paid the restaurant? picker to record who fronted the bill. When people pay each other back later, open Edit Bill → Someone already settled up? to log transfers between people. Balances update in real time so everyone knows when they're square.
Every shared bill gets a unique web link. Anyone can open it in their browser, pick their name, and instantly see their share, items, and who to pay — without installing anything.
You'll see all detected items in the "Assign Items" list. If something is missing or wrong, tap Edit Bill to add or correct items manually. For receipts where no line items were detected at all, Kitters automatically creates a placeholder item using the receipt's total so you can still assign and track it.
Yes. From the split screen, summary page, or your bill history, tap 📷 Add Receipt to scan another receipt and merge it into the current bill. All previously assigned items and people are kept intact. The combined total and per-person shares update automatically.
Yes. Kitters automatically detects whether a receipt uses tax-inclusive pricing (common in Kenya and many African and European markets) or tax-exclusive pricing (common in the US). Tax is distributed proportionally based on each person's share of the subtotal, so the split is always fair.
No. The bill sharer taps Share Bill in the app, which generates a link to getkitters.com/bill/…. Anyone who receives the link can open it in any browser, pick their name from the list, and see their personal items, total, and settlement instructions — no account or app required.
Bills are stored for 90 days from the time they are shared. After that they expire automatically. Bills you save to your account history are accessible as long as your account is active.
Download Kitters free and never argue over a restaurant bill again.
